God, one with a magic bullet? (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

panacea

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bullet?' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps you can see an association between them that I don't see?

'god one with a magic' is the wordplay.
'god' becomes 'Pan' (Pan is a Greek god).
'one' becomes 'a' (a thing is one thing).
'with' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'a magic' becomes 'ace' (both can mean very good).
'a' put after 'ace' is 'acea'.
'pan'+'acea'='PANACEA'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for panacea that I've seen before include "fixes all complaints" , "Remedy for all kinds of diseases or troubles" , "A cure-all for diseases or troubles" , "Nostrum" , "A cure for everything" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
