Grass surrounding lake after dump transformed (8)
I believe the answer is:
restyled
'transformed' is the definition.
(to restyle something is to transform it)
'grass surrounding lake after dump' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'lake' could be 'l' (geographical abbreviation) and 'l' is found within the answer.
'dump' could be 'stye' (I've seen this before) and 'stye' is present in the leftover letters.
The remaining letters 'red' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for restyled that I've seen before include "made over" , "freshly handled" .)
