Greek lover has been charged - it's a wearing process (7)
I believe the answer is:
erosion
'a wearing process' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'greek lover has been charged it's' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'charged' could be 'ion' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'ion' is located in the answer.
'it' could be 'e' ('e' can mean 'electronic' which is similar to 'IT') and 'e' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ros' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for erosion that I've seen before include "A wearing away as of rock by water" , "Gradual decline" , "The gradual wearing away by weather" , "dying away" , "Wearing away (of soil, rocks etc)" .)
