Group of buses only a short distance round the corner? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

fleet

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'group of' is the definition.
'fleet' can be an answer for 'group' (I have seen 'Group of ships ' mean 'fleet' so perhaps 'group' could also mean 'fleet'). I am not certain of the 'of' bit.

I don't understand how the remainder of the clue works.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for fleet that I've seen before include "Navy - quick" , "good turn of speed" , "Swift of foot - old London jail" , "Fast kind of armada?" , "Marine force" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
