Half a doublet? (7)
I believe the answer is:
singlet
This could be a double definition.
'half' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.
'a doublet?' is the second definition.
The answer and definition can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I can't see?
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for singlet that I've seen before include "Underwear" , "Tingles in vest" , "underclothing" , "Sleeveless shirt" , "One unaccompanied" .)
