Crossword Genius

Harry is wrong about soldiers (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

torment

'harry' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'wrong about soldiers' is the wordplay.
'wrong' becomes 'tort' (legal term).
'about' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'soldiers' becomes 'men' (men can mean a group of soldiers).
'tort' enclosing 'men' is 'TORMENT'.

'is' is the link.

(Other definitions for torment that I've seen before include "Great suffering" , "Cause mental distress" , "Persecute" , "Severe pain" , "Harass" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
