Have no truck with trailer at the front to move cars (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

shunt

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'have no truck' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'trailer at the front to move cars' is the wordplay.
'at the front' says to take the initial letters.
'to' means one lot of letters go next to another (I've seen this in other clues).
'move cars' becomes 'shun' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
The initial letter of 'trailer' is 't'.
't' after 'shun' is 'SHUNT'.

'with' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for shunt that I've seen before include "Transfer rolling stock from track to track" , "Transfer a train to another track" , "Rear end collision" , "Move rolling stock" , "Sidetrack" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
