Crossword Genius

Have one go then another almost, let out and capsize (4,6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

turn turtle

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'capsize' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'have one go then another almost let out' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'go' could be 'turn' (as in one's go or turn in a game) and 'turn' is located in the answer.
'another' could be 'r' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'r' is located in the answer.
an anagram of 'let' is 'tle' which is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'and' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for turn turtle that I've seen before include "Capsize" , "Upend" , "Tip over" , "(Of boat) invert" , "Go over" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
