Having the ability to appreciate, you see (3)
I believe the answer is:
eye
'see' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'having the ability to appreciate you' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'you' could be 'ye' and 'ye' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eye that I've seen before include "Keep watch on" , "'Public' or 'private' body part" , "Dark spot on a potato" , "Four [NEEDLEFUL] may pass through this" , "Optical organ" .)
