He holds the line, angling for a job (9)
I believe the answer is:
fisherman
'a job' is the definition.
(I know this)
'he holds the line angling' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'he' could be 'sherman' and 'sherman' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'for' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for fisherman that I've seen before include "networker?" , "One possibly catching sole" , "St Peter" , "He's an angler" , "Fin masher might be all at sea" .)
