I don't know anything about this answer so I can't judge whether this works.
'alternative view?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'alternative' could be 'other' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'other' is found within the answer.
'view?' could be 'side' (side is a kind of view) and 'side' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
