I believe the answer is:

weathered

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'worn' is the definition.
(similar in meaning)

'heart flutters and grass skirts' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'heart' is 'ather' which is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'weed' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for weathered that I've seen before include "Strengthened by being exposed to the elements" , "Worn by wind and rain" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
