Heavenly place, a noted haunt (4)
I believe the answer is:
eden
'heavenly place' is the definition.
'eden' can be an answer for 'place' (I have seen 'Perfect place' mean 'eden' so perhaps 'place' could also mean 'eden'). I am unsure of the 'heavenly' bit.
'a noted haunt' is the wordplay.
'a noted' becomes 'e' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'haunt' becomes 'den' (I've seen this in other clues).
'e'+'den'='EDEN'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eden that I've seen before include "Adam and Eve's garden" , "Early garden - Cornish project" , "Paradise - ex-prime minister" , "The original garden?" , "at Number Ten once?" .)
