Hip-bend discussed by young medic (7)
I believe the answer is:
interne
'medic' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'hip-bend' is the wordplay.
'hip' becomes 'in' (both can mean fashionable).
'bend' becomes 'terne' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'in'+'terne'='INTERNE'
'discussed by young' acts as a link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may belong to another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for interne that I've seen before include "This US trainee" , "Doctor" .)
