Hostile feeling: smear upset Crown Jewels robber (3,5)
I believe the answer is:
bad blood
'hostile feeling' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'smear upset crown jewels robber' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'smear' could be 'blood' (blooding is a kind of smearing) and 'blood' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'bad' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bad blood that I've seen before include "Hostility, ill feeling of sanguinary kind" , "Rancour" , "Ill-feeling (between people)" , "Feeling of animosity or hostility" , "Ill feeling, animosity of sanguinary sort" .)
