Hot evening? (7)
I believe the answer is:
ironing
'evening?' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with contact as well as being present participle verbs.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'hot' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'hot' could be 'in' (both can mean fashionable) and 'in' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ironing that I've seen before include "having pressing business" , "Smoothing clothes, etc" , "Items to decrease" , "Household task" , "A housework chore" .)
