Hot model and Spinner getting back together (2,6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

in tandem

'together' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'hot model and spinner getting back' is the wordplay.
'hot' becomes 'in' (both can mean fashionable).
'model' becomes 't' (Ford Model T car).
'spinner' becomes 'me' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'getting back' says the letters should be written backwards.
'me' backwards is 'em'.
'in'+'t'+'and'+'em'='IN TANDEM'

(Other definitions for in tandem that I've seen before include "Manned it as twosome" , "Together - as on a bicycle made for two" , "Working together" , "One behind the other or alongside" , "Together (as a pair)" .)

I've seen this clue in The Hindu.
