I believe the answer is:

indented

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'how some lines are' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with social activities as well as being past participle verbs.
Perhaps you can see a link between them that I don't see?

'in dutch and english books by editor?' is the wordplay.
'dutch' becomes 'd' (abbreviation for Dutch).
'and' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'english' becomes 'E' (abbreviation).
'books by' becomes 'nt' (New Testament. I am not sure about the 'by' bit.).
'editor?' becomes 'ed' (abbreviation).
'in'+'d'+'e'+'nt'+'ed'='INDENTED'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for indented that I've seen is " Ordered".)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
