Both the definition and answer are adverbs. Maybe you can see a link between them that I don't see?

'the queen can't see things from her own viewpoint?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'see' could be 'ely' (example where cathedral located in diocese) and 'ely' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
