How to sound lower class (6)
I believe the answer is:
lesson
'class' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'how to sound lower' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'lower' could be 'less' (synonyms) and 'less' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'on' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lesson that I've seen before include "15 down period" , "corrective punishment" , "Teaching unit" , "Moral" , "Teaching session or reading from Bible" .)
