Huge temptation for Adam in New York (3,5)

I believe the answer is:
big apple
'new york' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'huge temptation for adam' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'huge' could be 'big' (similar in meaning) and 'big' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'apple' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for big apple that I've seen before include "US city's" , "Slang for New York citry" , "Informal name for New York" , "New York City (informal)" , "Large fruit in the US?" .)
