Hung up feeling very nervous (6,6)
I believe the answer is:
highly strung
'very nervous' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'hung up feeling' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'up' could be 'high' (associated in meaning) and 'high' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for highly strung that I've seen before include "Nervous, easily upset" , "Excitable - easily upset" , "Tense and easily upset" , "like the violino piccolo" , "Very sensitive" .)
