I get in the way of traffic resulting in abuse (6)
I believe the answer is:
tirade
'abuse' is the definition.
(verbal abuse)
'i get in the way' is the wordplay.
'get' becomes 'trad' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'the way' becomes 'e' (Compass direction - East).
'i' placed into 'trad' is 'tirad'.
'tirad'+'e'='TIRADE'
'of traffic resulting in' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tirade that I've seen before include "Erode or melt (material)" , "Loud harangue" , "strong words" , "Intemperate outburst" , "A prolonged rant or harangue" .)
