I see rat in retreat, a Russian one? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

dacha

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a russian one?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how they can define each other.

'i see rat in retreat' is the wordplay.
'i see' becomes 'ah' ('ah' can be used to express understanding).
'rat' becomes 'cad' (both can mean an unpleasant person).
'in retreat' says the letters should be written in reverse.
'ah'+'cad'='ahcad'
'ahcad' in reverse letter order is 'DACHA'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for dacha that I've seen before include "Country home in Russia" , "Russian second home" , "Russian villa" , "Russian retreat" , "Russian's second home in the country" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
