I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'in america gossip' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with communicating as well as being verbs in their base form.
Perhaps you can see an association between them that I don't see?

'woman about revolutionary videoconferencing software' is the wordplay.
'woman' becomes 'she' ().
'about' indicates putting letters inside.
'revolutionary' says the letters should be written backwards (letters revolve around).
'videoconferencing software' becomes 'Zoom' (program for making video calls).
'zoom' backwards is 'mooz'.
'she' going around 'mooz' is 'SHMOOZE'.

'with a' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for shmooze that I've seen before include "Chat intimately" , "Chat in an intimate way" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
