In grief stop listening (3)
I believe the answer is:
woe
'in grief' is the definition.
'woe' can be an answer for 'grief' (I've seen this in another clue). I am not sure about the 'in' bit.
I don't understand how the remainder of the clue works.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for woe that I've seen before include "Archaic sorrow or grief" , "Difficulty" , "Misery - tribulation" , "'Wednesday's child is full of ...'" , "Misery, great suffering" .)
