'in switching on' is the definition.
I don't know anything about this answer so I can't tell whether this works.

'creating trouble for oneself' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'creating' could be 'starting' (starting is a kind of creating) and 'starting' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'something' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
