I believe the answer is:

trivia

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'information of little importance' is the definition.
'trivia' can be an answer for 'information' (I have seen 'Unimportant information ' mean 'trivia' so perhaps 'information' could also mean 'trivia'). I am not sure about the 'of little importance' bit.

I don't understand how the remainder of the clue works.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for trivia that I've seen before include "petty considerations" , "minor points of interest?" , "Unimportant things, items of little value" , "Trifling things" , "Minutiae" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
