Crossword Genius

Inclined not to marry (6-6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

single-minded

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'not to marry' is the definition.
I can't tell whether this defines the answer.

'inclined' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'inclined' could be 'minded' (similar in meaning) and 'minded' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'single' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for single-minded that I've seen before include "Not distracted from chosen purpose" , "Mentally focussed" , "Dedicated to one outcome" , "Concentrating purposefully" , "Concentrating on one particular thing" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
