Ross

I believe the answer is:

raga

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'indian music' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'indian city right to the fore' is the wordplay.
'indian city' becomes 'aga' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'right' becomes 'r' (common abbreviation).
'to the fore' says to put letters next to each other.
'aga' put after 'r' is 'RAGA'.

'in' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for raga that I've seen before include "Classical Indian piece" , "An Indian note-pattern" , "Indian melody" , "classical Indian composition" , "Basis of improvisation in Indian music" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
