Innards of your stereo - before wheel’s removed - in boot (4)
I believe the answer is:
oust
'removed in boot' is the definition.
'oust' can be an answer for 'boot' (I've seen this in another clue). I am unsure of the 'removed in' bit.
'innards of your stereo before wheel's' is the wordplay.
'innards of' means to look at the middle letters.
'stereo before' becomes 'ts' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'wheel's' says the letters should be written in reverse (I've seen 'wheeled' mean this (letters are wheeled back)).
The middle letters of 'your' are 'ou'.
'ts' backwards is 'st'.
'ou'+'st'='OUST'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for oust that I've seen before include "Evict" , "Overthrow" , "Expel from office or position" , "Unseat" , "Put out, say of office" .)
