Ross

I believe the answer is:

finally

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'at last' is the definition.
(synonyms)

'insect gets round bent nail' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'nail' is 'inal' which is present in the answer.
'insect' could be 'fly' (fly is a kind of insect) and 'fly' is located in the leftover letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for finally that I've seen before include "for ever" , "At last" , "when all is said and done" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
