Is half of Tolstoy’s work distortion? (4)
I believe the answer is:
warp
'distortion?' is the definition.
(I know that warp is a type of distortion)
'is half of tolstoy's work' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'work' could be 'w' (physics abbreviation) and 'w' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'arp' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for warp that I've seen before include "Distort, ship's rope" , "Distort as wood may from heat" , "Pervert - lengthways threads" , "Misintepret" , "Distort, twist" .)
