Is she prohibited from entering outer Brentford? (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

anne

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'is she' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'entering outer brentford?' is the wordplay.
'entering' becomes 'accession' (accession is a kind of entering).
'outer' says to hollow out the word (remove centre letters).
'brentford?' becomes 'ne' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'accession' with its centre taken out is 'an'.
'an'+'ne'='ANNE'

'prohibited from' acts as a link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for anne that I've seen before include "English queen" , "The Princess Royal" , "First name of two of Henry VIII's wives" , "- - Hathaway, wife of Shakespeare" , "One of Henry VIII's wives" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
