Island hotel concerned with getaway, according to reports (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

honshu

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'island' is the definition.
(I know that Honshu is a island)

'hotel concerned with getaway according to reports' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'hotel' could be 'h' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.) and 'h' is found in the answer.
'concerned' could be 'on' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'on' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'shu' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for honshu that I've seen before include "The largest island unit of Japan" , "Largest of the islands forming Japan" , "Largest of the Japanese islands" , "Island regarded as the Japanese mainland" , "Largest of the four main islands of Japan" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
