It's no good being needy (4)
I believe the answer is:
poor
'needy' is the definition.
(similar in meaning)
'it's no good' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'no' could be 'o' (O resembles 0) and 'o' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'por' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'being' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for poor that I've seen before include "Having little money or means" , "Shoddy" , "mean" , "Impecunious; wretched" , "Rotten" .)
