It's someone other than editor that's famous (5)
I believe the answer is:
noted
'that's famous' is the definition.
(noted can mean well-known or famous)
'it's someone other than editor' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'someone' could be 'ted' (Ted is an example) and 'ted' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'no' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for noted that I've seen before include "Famous or eminent" , "Remarkable" , "taken down" , "Wrote it down" , "Observed or took account of" .)
