Jenny, like Jack in a way (4)
I believe the answer is:
wren
'jenny' is the definition.
(jenny wren is another name for a wren)
'jack in a way' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'way' could be 'w' (Compass direction - West) and 'w' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ren' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'like' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for wren that I've seen before include "Small active brown northern hemisphere bird" , "Sir Christopher -, architect of St Paul's" , "17th Century architect" , "Tiny brown songbird with short erect tail" , "See 7 Down" .)
