Crossword Genius

Judging mine to be wrong in some degree (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

deeming

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'judging' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'mine to be wrong in some degree' is the wordplay.
'to be wrong' indicates an anagram (I've seen 'is wrong' mean this).
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'some degree' becomes 'deg' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'mine' with letters rearranged gives 'emin'.
'emin' going within 'deg' is 'DEEMING'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for deeming that I've seen is " 'Judging, considering (7)'".)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
