Kind nurse - the woman leaving hospital (6)
I believe the answer is:
tender
'kind' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'nurse the woman leaving hospital' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'nurse' could be 'tend' (I've seen this before) and 'tend' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'er' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tender that I've seen before include "sensitive > carer > money" , "Considerate and solicitous treatment" , "Affectionate - easily hurt" , ". . . . . . is the Night (F. Scott Fitzgerald)" , "Offer; ferry boat" .)
