Kind of car suited to one's station? (6)
I believe the answer is:
estate
'kind of car' is the definition.
'estate' can be an answer for 'car' (type of car). I'm not sure about the 'kind of' bit.
'suited to one's station?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'station?' could be 'state' (station is a kind of state) and 'state' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for estate that I've seen before include "Vehicle" , "Large car; property" , "Property to be inherited" , "The entire property of a deceased person" , "Possessions at the time of death" .)
