Lack errand? No one is working (4)
I believe the answer is:
miss
'lack' is the definition.
(I know that lack can be written as miss)
'errand? no one is working' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'one' could be 'i' (Roman numeral) and 'i' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'mss' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for miss that I've seen before include "Suffer from the lack of" , "Fail to hear" , "Overlook - misfire - young lady" , "Fail to find" , "Skip" .)
