Lack of shelter as river pours turbulently inside (8)
I believe the answer is:
exposure
'lack of shelter' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'river pours turbulently inside' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'river' could be 'ure' (I have seen 'River of Wensleydale ' mean 'ure' so perhaps 'river' could also mean 'ure') and 'ure' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'expos' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
'as' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for exposure that I've seen before include "Lack of cover" , "Publicity, or state of being revealed" , "public attention" , "illness caused by cold" , "Openness" .)
