Land you make your home in (6)
I believe the answer is:
settle
'land' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'you make your home in' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'make' could be 'set' (setting is a kind of making) and 'set' is found within the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for settle that I've seen before include "place to sit" , "Resolve; Yorkshire town" , "Colonise with a seat" , "High-backed bench" , "N Yorks town" .)
