I believe the answer is:

crater

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'large hole' is the definition.
(large hole in the ground)

'vehicle that will hardly go right' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'vehicle' could be 'crate' (I have seen 'Dilapidated vehicle ' mean 'crate' so perhaps 'vehicle' could also mean 'crate') and 'crate' is present in the answer.
'right' could be 'r' (common abbreviation) and 'r' is found in the answer.
No letters remain.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'in' is the link.

(Other definitions for crater that I've seen before include "Volcanic depression" , "Volcano's mouth" , "Fissure in the earth's crust" , "Bowl-shaped cavity as on volcano peak" , "Large bowl-shaped hollow" .)
