I believe the answer is:

(I know that retrain is a more specific form of the action prepare)
'skill getting put up in control' is the wordplay.
'skill getting' becomes 'art' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'put up' says the letters should be written in reverse.
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'control' becomes 'rein' (reining is a kind of controlling).
'art' backwards is 'tra'.
'tra' placed into 'rein' is 'RETRAIN'.
'a new job' is the link.
