I believe the answer is:

twill

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'the draper's' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how one could define the other.

'leave on time' is the wordplay.
'leave' becomes 'will' (synonyms).
'on' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'time' becomes 't' (abbreviation).
'will' after 't' is 'TWILL'.

'from' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for twill that I've seen before include "Fabric woven to have diagonal ribs" , "Fabric with distinctive weave" , "Fabric woven to produce a surface of diagonal parallel ridges" , "Ribbed cloth" , "Fabric weave with parallel diagonal lines" .)
