Letter abroad recalled very different times (5)
I believe the answer is:
omega
'letter abroad' is the definition.
(letter of the Greek alphabet)
'recalled very different times' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'very' could be 'mega' (I've seen this before) and 'mega' is found within the answer.
A single letter 'o' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
(Other definitions for omega that I've seen before include "Last thing" , "Last letter of the Greek alphabet" , "Last (Gk. letter)" , "End of sequence" , "Ending of a series or sequence" .)
