Like the Great White Way (5)
I believe the answer is:
milky
'white way' is the definition.
'milky' can be an answer for 'white' (thesaurus). I am unsure of the 'way' bit.
'like the great' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'like' could be 'ilk' (I've seen this before) and 'ilk' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'my' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for milky that I've seen before include "Clouded" , "White, opaque" , "Lacteal; cloudy" , "Lactic" , "Of a soft white colour" .)
