Limitation of mysterious English code expert (5)
I believe the answer is:
morse
'code expert' is the definition.
'morse' can be an answer for 'code' (Morse code). I'm not certain of the 'expert' bit.
'limitation of mysterious english' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is found in the answer.
'english' could be 'e' (abbreviation) and 'e' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'mrs' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for morse that I've seen before include "Dot-dash code inventor" , "Samuel ---, telegraph inventor" , "Colin Dexter's fictional detective" , "Endeavour" , "Code using dots and dashes" .)
